Living Arrows 2021 – 18/52

I think I’m just going to stop saying anything hopeful about the rest of this school year.

I’ll just take things as they come, without thought or comment on how much time the children will actually be in school, with their friends and their teachers.

Which is all a roundabout way of saying that, after another full week in school, Rhys came down with a stinking cold at the start of the week so had Tuesday and Wednesday at home.  I think under ‘normal’ circumstances I would’ve sent him in, to at least see how he went in school.  But the way things are at the moment our school are still asking that children are kept home if they’re at all unwell, even if they don’t have any of the main covid symptoms.

So Rhys had 2 more days at home, my week has been fully thrown off with that the bank holiday, but at least Nerys and I had a lovely walk home from school on Tuesday, just the two of us.

We did have to stop under this tree for a few minutes to shelter from a sudden hail storm.  But other than that, we made the most of having a bit of extra one-on-one time!

Rhys is feeling much better now and both children went off to school smiling this morning.  And while I would normally comment something along the lines of ‘hopefully we’ll manage a full week of school again next week’, this time I’m just not doing it.

If this last year has taught me anything it’s that we can be much more flexible and adaptable than I thought, so whatever will be, will be this term and one way or another it’ll all be fine.

Right?!
