We made it through the first week back at school relatively unscathed.
Things were a bit dicey two days in when Rhys managed to lose his brand new lunchbox. But luckily it was found again the next day, so disaster was averted.
Both children seem to have settled into their new classes nicely though.
The school have changed up the way the classes are organised throughout the school, but luckily Rhys and Nerys seem to be pretty unbothered by it all.
They were definitely tired by the end of that first week back though, so we had a lovely quiet weekend to let us all recuperate a bit.
Saturday was spent at home, generally lounging around and watching random bits and pieces on YouTube.
Then Sunday we took the children to their swimming lessons then whizzed into town to pick up a few things. The afternoon was then spent at home, pottering about.
I took these photos of Nerys while she sat by our big living room window sill playing with her toys.

She had some kinetic sand and was using it with her playmobil ‘at the beach’ playset.
The set has a tiny sandcastle in it that, it turns out, you can use to actually make mini sandcastles with. Nerys had a great time making tiny kinetic sand sandcastles with it!
She has a few different Playmobil sets now and I love seeing how creative she is when she plays with them. Although I’m not all that creative when she wants me to play with her, I just never know what to make the different characters say or do.
Please tell me I’m not the only one who struggles with this!

I love kinetic sand – you’ve just reminded me to order some more for my daughter!
Hope you’re having a great week so far!
Glad you had a good first week back at school. Kinetic sand is a toy that I genuinely thought would be played with once and then forgotten about at the back of a cupboard – instead he asks to play with it at least twice a week, Sad times that he can’t play with it outside for much longer though. Sad for my carpet and hoover anyway..
Kinetic sand is so good, My little boy is really careful with it but my nephew who comes 3 times a week goes straight for it and gets it all over the place!! I need an outdoor table to keep it in for sure.
It does get everywhere doesn’t it! I make my children play with it on the windowsill or on the laminate floor, but it still somehow ends up in the rug! x
It looks like she has such a great imagination – and she’s obviously concentrating so well too! x
Sounds like a lovely weekend. A quiet one is much needed after the return to school. Kinetic sand is so much fun what a great way to play with it.
Our school made changes this year too, but Holly hasn’t really noticed x
Glad to hear the return to school was relatively stress free. I love kinetic sand but I haven’t been brave enough to let the boys have any yet!
