I can’t believe it’s time for another siblings project post, the weeks seem to be flying by at the moment.
Luckily I remembered in time to get some photos of Rhys and Nerys together on our trip to the beach last weekend. They’re not quite as picture-perfect as the photos I managed to get last month, but they do perhaps show the children’s personalities a little bit more!
In case you’re wondering, that’s a dogfish egg case in Rhys’ hand in the top two photos. Also known as a mermaid’s purse apparently. I don’t think I’d ever really come across them until recently but we seem to be seeing them every time we go to the beach at the moment and Rhys being the way he is loves to pick them up and examine them.
I’m pleased I thought to snap these photos when we first arrived at the beach because it really wasn’t too long before both children had stripped off and started swimming in the sea.
Rhys has been having swimming lessons for a while now and has come on really well. He absolutely loved being able to go out a bit deeper in the water and practice his front crawl and back stroke. Nerys on the other hand hasn’t started lessons yet, but has really loved being in the water recently. She’ll be starting lessons in September hopefully and I think she’ll come on quite quickly having waited till she was that bit older to start.
She’s desperate to be able to do the things that Rhys and his friends can do though, and I have to keep reminding her that she is 3 years younger than they are so they will be faster/stronger/better than her at some things.
I suppose that’s quite common with siblings isn’t it? For the younger one to want to be just like their older brother or sister!
