One more week of school to go until the Easter holidays.
It’s pretty wild to me that this time 2 years ago we had gone into the first lockdown, which I really thought would last for just a couple of weeks! Right now it still feels like we have loads of the school year left, so I can’t quite get my head around the fact that 2 years ago the children came home from school for Easter and didn’t actually go back for the rest of the year.
This year it’s looking like the Easter holidays will be pretty much like normal, with things like our local Easter egg hunt being back on.
We’ve not got any big plans for the break, so I think it’ll mainly be our normal mix of walks on the beach, trips to the parks, and probably a bus ride or two into town for a wander.
On Saturday morning we went out for a walk along the beach to west pier and back via the new coastal park, which is somewhere we may well head back to over the holidays.

It was the first time the children had been to the coastal park and they were so excited to run around and explore.
They both loved the water feature, which we all said reminded us of the one in the Serendome at Bluestone.
They also really enjoyed the seesaw and all the wooden climbing frames.
We needed to head back home for lunch so were only there for about half an hour, and the children are sure there are still bits of the park that they didn’t get to see.
So, yeah, we’ll be heading back soon for more of a play.
For now we’ve just got four days of school to get through, thanks to an inset day on Friday and then we can all relax and have a bit of fun together.

I’ve loved our Easter holidays being pretty normal this year. It’s been so refreshing after the last two years! x
It’s crazy to think how long the kids spent at home in lockdowns isn’t it? My two literally didn’t leave the house, apart from to play in the street right outside our front door for months! We finally got to go on our holiday that was supposed to happen in the 2020 Easter holidays this week!
