Living Arrows 2018 – 5/52

Has January been a bit of washout for everyone, or is it just us here in Swansea that seem to have had rainy weekend after rainy weekend?

Even for a pluviophile like me it’s been a bit much to be honest!

Although that’s mainly down to the fact that it’s really restricted my photo opportunities, because I really don’t want to risk taking my big camera out in the wet.  So I was a bit cheeky and got Rhys to stay out in the rain after his swimming lesson yesterday for a few seconds, while I stood in the shelter of our hallway to snap a few photos for this week’s Living Arrows post.

For a spontaneous and speedy photo session, I’m really happy with the results!

It feels like he’s shown three different sides of his personality in the pictures, which I love considering the fact that they were taken in quick succession.

More than anything though I just love the fact that he doesn’t look in the slightest bit bothered by the rain.  Last week I shared some photos of Nerys from our rainy walk in the park, and mentioned how she really quite likes being out in the wet.

Rhys on the other hand is often a bit more reluctant to go out when it’s raining.  But this weekend it was as if he didn’t even notice how soggy he was getting.

It’s a good thing really, that as a family we all quite like the rain, when we have months like this when Wales lives up to its reputation of being a particularly wet place!

Do your children like going out in the rain, or do you end up stuck in the house and going stir-crazy when the dark clouds gather and the rain just doesn’t stop?
