We’ve sort of lost all sense of normal routine over the summer holidays.
The children haven’t been going to bed at any particular time, we’ve just sort of played it by ear each day and judged by how tired they are when it’s time to head up for the night.
Which means that they’ve been waking at different times in the mornings too.

One day last week Nerys slept in till around 8.30, which is a pretty decent lie in by my children’s standards.
And as she sat on the sofa that morning Steve and I both looked at her and realised she must’ve needed the extra sleep as she seemed to have grown over night. She suddenly looked bigger and different somehow.
She is definitely growing and changing.
Shifting further and further from the baby and toddler and pre-school versions of herself.
She’s decided that she’d like to grow her fringe out, which feels like another step in her growing independence, making those kinds of decisions about her appearance.
With her fringe growing into her eyes we’ve started clipping it back more often and eventually it’ll grow out completely. She just looks so different without it though.
I’m ok with this change, but it’ll be a different story when she decides she wants to cut it all off and have a bob or a pixie cut. I’m not sure how well I’ll cope then.
Does anyone else find they feel a bit too attached to their children’s hair?

I’ve been reading your blog for so long, and seeing your children grow over time, and she really does look so different recently x
She is definitely looking older now isn’t she! I feel the same way with your two, they’ve grown up so much in the time I’ve read your blog! x
I am sure they do sometimes have growth spurts over night! I hope it’s a while before she decides roger or cut off – hop sully she never will. I find it so difficult to encourage their independence, I must just let it go! Xx
I swear they’ve grown over the course of a nap before! x
I would feel the same about a haircut if Daisy wanted to chop all hers off so I’m with you on that one. I hope she settles back into the school routine and early mornings x #livingarrows
Glad I’m not the only one with that feels that way about their child’s hair! x
