When Friday evening came around last week we looked at the weather forecast and realised that we would most likely have a stay-indoors sort of weekend.
It looked like we were due a full weekend of wet and windy weather.
Luckily our only plans were taking Nerys to the doctors on Saturday morning for her flu vaccination and Rhys to his swimming lesson on Sunday.
And, honestly, I would quite happily stay in for a weekend. I’m a real homebody and love spending time just pottering around at home with my family.
Nerys though, she has this need almost, to get outside.

So luckily for her, the rain blew through by Sunday afternoon and we were able to go for a walk along the seafront.
It was getting close to sunset by the time we got down there and man alive it was chilly.
I really don’t think she noticed though.
She never once mentioned that she was feeling cold. She just loved being outside. Running on the sand. Looking out to sea.
She did mention at one point in our walk along the front that she was hungry. What made me and Steve laugh was the fact that she said it so innocently as we walked past a cafe.
It was brilliantly done.
“I’m really quite hungry”. Then a minute later, “Oh look, here’s a cafe”.
Yes, what a coincidence!
She is bright this little one, and wicked too, in the best possible way.

Haha what a coincidence indeed! I adore her hat – it’s gorgeous #LivingArrows
It’s a fab hat isn’t it, I’m so pleased it still fits her! And it really was such a coincidence! x
I’m a bit like Nerys if I’m honest. I love being out. This is a stunning portrait of her x #livingarrows
Thank you so much. I’m an odd one I think, I love being out once I’m out but am equally happy to curl up at home! x
A little boy used to visit Nan. One morning he asked what the time was, then said ” I expect my mummy thinks I’m having a biscuit now. “
Oh I do love that story! x
Brilliant! Children don’t seem to notice the cold, do they? I like being warm so I gravitate towards the house at this time of year, but I know getting out of the house really affects how we all feel for the better, so we try and get out every day, but it’s so hard on those cold miserable days! Her cafe comment was perfect, and I absolutely love her star hat!
They really don’t seem to notice the cold! And both my two have always seemed to run hot too, so if anything they strip off layers in the winter! x
I’m like Nery’s and live to get out and about. Gorgeous photo of her this week x
Thank you. It’s funny isn’t it, how some people do have that ‘need’ to get out of the house! x
That hat is adorable and I love her need to be outside. I think sometimes you really do just need to be outside so to want to do it naturally every day must be so nice x
It’s a great hat isn’t it, she had it last winter and I’m so happy it still fits her! x
We ended up going out at the same time of day. I think the fact we were loosing the light made it all the more fun for Monkey. Although my photos didn’t think that! #LivingArrows
