The first week of the summer holidays was a bit of a mixed bag for us.
We had a lovely, busy couple of days at the start of the week. My brother and sister came to Swansea on the Monday, with their girls, and we spent a hot, sunny day at the beach.
Then on Tuesday we got the train into Cardiff to meet up with them again. We had a good wander round and checked out a couple of museums, which all the children seemed to really enjoy.
But through all that Rhys was trying to fight off a mystery virus, and so by Wednesday was in real need of a quiet few days at home. So that’s what we had. A few days of pottering at home, resting and letting his little body try and fight off this bug.
Luckily Nerys seems to be ok, although she is a little bit snotty and sneezy.

She’s been fab though, and has been happy playing at home, especially when it came to the weekend and she could get back out in the garden with her Daddy to help tidy things up out there again!
She was in her element at the start of last week, with all her cousins around her. It’s so lovely to see and hear them all playing together, and fascinating to see how differently she plays compared to how Rhys was at the same age.
There was a lot of imaginary play going on with her cousins, playing families and shop keepers, which is something that Rhys just wasn’t that interested in as a little one.
For those of you with more than one child, do you find they’re really similar or do they have different ways of playing too?

That’s such a beautiful photo – I love the intent look on her face. Max is all about the imaginary play – I seem to get roped into shops, doctors, car washes, and extensive Paw Patrol games all the time. It’s lovely to watch! I do find it exhausting after a while when I have to play along though! #LivingArrows
Lovely photo. It’s wonderful the cousins get on even though they are all so different.
Oh no poor Rhys, our summer has started pretty much the same way with a trip to the doctor and a viral thing diagnosed. My two definitely play very differently, they are both imaginative but it totally opposite ways. Nerys looks very happy helping out in the garden. #LivingArrows
It’s so nice when kids get to see their cousins and spend time playing with them. N’s lucky because sees his regularly. He used to love playing shops
Beautiful photo! Cousins are the best, my girls only have 1 cousin and there won’t be any more which is a bit of shame as I’ve got lots and love it! x #LivingArrows
Beautiful photo. I hope Rhys is better now.

I hope you have managed to get some adverting done this week and the virus has cleaered up. At the moment Kipper is too young to see if there’s much difference but I wouldn’t be surprised since they are very different personalities x #LivingArrows
Such a lovely photo of Nerys – I hope she avoided the virus and Rhys is feeling better now too x #LivingArrows
That’s a gorgeous picture. I love her dress and her gardening gloves are very cute. #livingarrows
