I wrote a few days ago about how we live really close to the beach here in Swansea, and that
we often take that fact for granted, with weeks passing without a trip to see the sea.
Over the last few weeks though we’ve started going back. Making a nice little habit of popping out for a walk on the beach at the weekends. Last weekend we were down there at about 4 in the afternoon, just as the sun came out and the tide came in – beautiful!
I made a point of handing the camera over to my husband so that I could get in some of the photos and I’m so pleased with the results! He’s a fab photographer and I love having photos taken from his perspective and in his style (although these are edited by me, in my style!).
After a while though, I was itching to get back behind the camera, and I love these shots of my little explorers, splashing in (and running away from) the incoming tide. They love this game, especially with Daddy there to scoop them up out of the way of the water!
I made a point of getting in some photos that day, as part of my mission to be in a photo every day for the month of March. How often do you get in photos? When was the last time you had a picture taken of you with your children, rather than being the one taking them?
I’m sharing my photos that feature me on my Instagram and Facebook accounts with #showyouwerethere.
I would love people to join in and share their photos with them in using that hashtag!
If you love this post please do share it!
Beautiful photos, it looks like you had a great day
Happy Easter
Thank you for linking up
Thank you, we did have a lovely time! x
What gorgeous photos and it looks like a lovely trip to the seaside- I would love to live nearer the sea. Our nearest is about an hour and a bit away. And it’s so good to hand the camera over isn’t it? I love it when my husband takes photos of me and my girls. x
I grew up a fair distance from the sea, so I do love being so close to it now! I’ve been here too long though I think and do start to take it for granted at times! Your husband has taken some gorgeous photos of you and your girls, such nice memories for you all! x
What lovely photos, your husband does indeed take a good photo and you have edited them beautifully. Looks like a lovely area of the beach there and nice and quiet too. We live a little further from our beaches but I’m looking forward to taking thekids over the holidays. If you have time please join me for Country Kids, this post is perfect. Popping by from Mysunday Photo. Happy Easter to you all
It was quite nice and quiet when we were there, some of the other beaches on the gower get pretty busy at times! Will pop over and check out your linky, thank you! x
These photo by your husband are so lovely. My boy loves to collect some seashells too. I have to say I really like the portrait photo of your boy. Just gorgeous. #MySundayPhoto
There’s something really appealing about seashells isn’t there! And thank you, pretty sure that pic of Rhys is one of mine, haha, I’ll take the credit for that one! x
Beautiful pictures huni, get out in what ever sun we get at the moment x
Thank you! It’s raining again today, so pleased we made it out for another run on the beach yesterday! x
I was just talking about this on IG yesterday. I never used to be in any photos but knowing how few I have of my mum from when I was little made me realise I needed to get in front of the lens. These are lovely photos! Thank you for joining in #HappyDaysLinky x
That’s it isn’t it, it’s not about us, it’s about making sure we’re in those photos for our children. x
How gorgeous are these photos! I love that you’re in so many of them too. I wrote a post last year about how I am never in any photos and vowed to be in more – but nothing has changed! Thanks for linking up to #HappyDaysLinky x
I’m so pleased I handed the camera over to my husband to get these photos! This is something I feel so passionately about, yet still, like you, end up not being in enough photos most of the year. I feel a blog post coming on to try and tackle the reasons we just don’t get in front of the camera more! x
Oh what a lovely intention to keep – it looks like you had glorious sunshine for your expedition, and a lot of fun too!
We got really lucky, it was grey and rainy earlier in the day! I plan on making this a real habit, getting in photos with my family more and more! x
Lovely photos! I wish my partner was good at photos! Maybe I need to give him more opportunities though! I take a lot of selfies with my child!! I love the beach!
Thank you, my husband is pretty good! Now, I don’t take enough selfies with my children! x
Do you have photography tips! Love the light in your photos =) #mysundayphoto
Oh thank you! I’m struggling to think of a quick tip I can write in here, but I may well put a blog post together with some tips, if people are interested! x
