As a general rule as a parent, you want your children to share with each other, don’t you.
Until something comes along that you’re not actually sure if you want them to share. Like chickenpox.
Nerys spent the first week of the Easter holidays with it. And with it being one of those fun illnesses where you’re infectious before you realise you have it, she’s obviously been in close contact with Rhys without us knowing that she was unwell.
So now the waiting game begins, to see if he will come down with it too.
In the meantime we’re getting out while we can, but kind of trying to stick to outdoor spaces where we can keep our distance from other families.

To be honest, I can’t quite believe Rhys has made it to nearly 11 without catching chickenpox.
He’s been exposed to it so many times over the years, he really should’ve had it by now!
And now I’m caught in the middle of hoping he does get it now so it’s done and out of the way and he won’t end up having it when he’s older (which from what I’ve heard can be a lot worse), and hoping he doesn’t catch it because it sort of goes against your instincts doesn’t it, to hope your child falls ill!
Parents of more than one, did your children have chickenpox at the same time or did one of them manage to avoid it when the other had it?!
