I wrote last week how I’ve been really quite slow off the mark this year.
And if I’m honest, I’m still struggling to get going. And I think part of the reason why I procrastinate and put things off is because of a worry that what I do won’t be good enough.
I’ve not written about it much before, but I am really quite an anxious person. And one of the aspects of my anxiety is this fear of making mistakes and looking foolish.
And it can be paralysing.
I’m trying so hard to keep this anxiety in check. To put my fears aside and just DO. And quotes like this are actually quite helpful and inspiring to me.

I read an article the other day that was all about regrets.
The writers had spoken to various elderly people about the main regrets they had, as they got closer to the end of their lives. And one of the big things that came up was that they regretted worrying so much.
They talked about how they felt they had wasted so much time, and energy, worrying about things that either didn’t matter or that were out of their control anyway.
And it really did make me think.
I don’t want to have any regrets. I don’t want to look back at my life and realise how much my anxiety and my worries took away from me.
So I’m trying. To realise that mistakes are ok.
They’re signs you’re trying.
They’re signs that you’re out there living life.

#candidcuddles small steps to happiness and enjoying the journey…it seems you have the recipe for a wonderful 2017 ahead of you 🙂
Hopefully it’s the way forward! x
I love this quote. I’m exactly the same and am really trying hard not to overthink all the mistakes I could make and just get out there and try. Hopefully 2017 will be our year x

It’s really hard isn’t it, to stop worrying so much and just get out there, but I do feel good about this year, hope you have a great one! x
A great quote, definitely one I can relate to. I tend to hold myself back out of fear that I’m not good enough or fear of making a fool of myself, but it’s something I want to overcome. I have quote related to this from Neil Gaiman that goes something like “If you are making mistakes it means that you are out there doing something.” Thanks for reminding me! #CandidCuddles
Yes indeed! I think fear causes us to stand still – worrying if we will do something wrong or have done something wrong. It can be so limiting & lead to regrets. I agree – we have to live our life! Thanks for sharing with us at #candidcuddles lovely xx
