#ShowYouWereThere round up

Show you were there round up

It’s almost the end of the month, and it’s Sunday so that means it’s time for another round up from my little Instagram community #ShowYouWereThere.

In case you’ve not come across it before, #ShowYouWereThere is all about getting more parents in more photos, both with and for our children.

My first pick for this round up is from Lauren at Scrapbook blog.  It’s such a lovely family photo, and makes me want to head down to our local woods for a good stomp around!

We spent an hour in the woods stomping about after voting and school pick up today. My brain is set to burst with work and logistical things going on (like finding child care after school and car insurance and so on and so forth) but some fresh air, some bluebells and some family time was a welcome distraction! Roll on the 3 day weekend! What's your favourite way to distract yourself from things? . . . #ParentsinthePicture #Showyouwerethere #myeverydaymagic #developinglife #ourcandiddays #motherhood_magic #watchthemgrow #worldoflittles #mycolourfulkids #raisingthoserascals #our_everyday_moments #adventuresofchildren #motherhoodsimplified #theirwonderfulworld #thehappynow #childhoodunplugged #familyphoto

Next up is this gorgeously floral photo from Sabrina at The Mummy Stylist.  I love the happy faces in this picture, and the absolutely beautiful setting.

It’s another coat photo for #whatmamaworemonday with @heyitsromeca @stylemotherbeat – I promise there’s a pretty dress underneath 😂 It’s one from the weekend when it bucketed it down with rain as we arrived at this beautiful garden. Rain, sun, rain, hailstones, sun – what a crazy Saturday it was! But what I absolutely love about this photo is that I will always remember this as the day the kids CHOSE to have a day out with me. . . . You see, the plan was actually for me to sneak out while they were at Nana’s and go to Eastcote House Gardens to practice some photography. Then they were like “I wanna come too!” I told them “I’m only going to take photos of flowers, it’s going to be sooooo boring for you.” Nope, they still wanted to come, Lily had her coat and boots on in a flash. When we got there, Tyler was pointing out flowers for me, Lily woke in the buggy and was excited to be somewhere new. We had cake in the cafe but the rain really wasn’t stopping, so we went out and took some photos in the rain, my hair drenched. They were running and giggling through this wisteria tunnel and around again, having so much fun. It was such a surprise – they liked hanging out with me to take photos of flowers! The rain was not stopping so we headed back to my car. Typical of course, the sun came out as we reached the car! So I took them to the miniature railway on the way back as they had been so good. A fun day can be had – whatever the weather! ☀️ ☔️ 🌧 Did you get caught in the rain on Saturday?

My third pick this time is another brilliantly joyful family photo from Emma at Sophie Ella and Me.   I just love photos like this one that are so full of smiles that you can’t help but smile too.

My last choice for this round up is from Kim at OddHogg.  This is such a lovely photo, and a really nice tribute to her little birthday boy in the caption.

Thank you so much to everyone who is using #ShowYouWereThere, I love seeing your photos popping up over on Instagram, they always make me smile so much.

Now my turn.

I’m testing the waters in a new niche for my photography business – personal brand photography for entrepreneurs, small businesses and creatives.  And I needed some photos of me to use as I start to talk about it.

So I grabbed my tripod and remote and took a few self portraits.  This is one of my favourites, that really feels like me.

If you’d like to join in with my little community and possibly be featured in my next round up (with a nice link back to your blog!) then just share a photo of yourself over on instagram using #ShowYouWereThere.  It’s all about getting more parents in more photos.  And if you’d like to take part in my guest post series ‘The photo I’m thankful for’ then take a look at this post or email me at thisgloriouslife@gmail.com for more information.
