The one thing that you have

I read quite a lot of blogs.

And I see quite a lot of bloggers get down about their work every now and then.

Sometimes it’s down to writer’s block.  Other times it seems to be down to making the mistake of comparing their blogs, and themselves, to others.

And it’s so easy to do it.

To read a couple of brilliant posts on someone else’s blog and to start to question whether you’re any good or not.

You start to wonder what you’ve actually got to offer to the world of blogs.

And I think the answer to that question is you.  YOU are what you have to offer.  No one else will think, or write, exactly the same way as you.  No one will express things in quite the same tone as you.  YOU are what makes your blog great.

So for any bloggers out there reading this, who are having a bit of a wobble.  This quote is for you:

The full quote goes like this:

“The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can.”

And I think it’s a pretty good quote for us bloggers to keep in mind!

It’s a wonderful quote and something we should all be living by. We’re all unique in our own way and it’s all lovely!

That’s an awesome quote and to direct it towards fellow bloggers who get down about their blogs is genius and inspiring. We all get down from time about our blogs and sometimes we all need a little pick-me-up and inspiration so thank you! Popping over from #candidcuddles

Thank you Michelle! I’ve seen a fair few comments from bloggers recently about how they’re feeling down about their blogs so this quote just jumped out at me! x

Hi! I have seen the same thing with some bloggers. I think it’s because they’ve gotten caught up in the whole “write for your readers” idea and have lost their first love of writing about things they enjoy. Getting back to a place of writing authentically and with your own voice is so refreshing – and it shines through on your blog.

Thank you leanne. It can be easy to lose your way can’t it, and get caught up in what other people are doing. My mum often says that when she reads my blog it sounds like me talking to her, which I always take as a big compliment! x

I love that full quote! It si true, we can write on the same topics, but still we will write it differently as we are unique and that is such a gift #candidcuddles

Really great quote. And so true! We need to realize that we are all different and we need to celebrate those differences!

Love love love this quote. It’s something I definitely need to keep in mind. May have to pin this one up by my computer x

Truly love this. It’s so important to remember how unique we all our. Not just as writers but as individuals. Whilst we might look like someone else, sound like someone else, there will always be something that is totally different. Great quote. #candidcuddles

Thank you, it’s a really good quote isn’t it. So simple but a really important message I think! x

I totally agree. Great quote. I think too many bloggers worry about what other people think. I think we should have blogs for ourselves

This is just fantastic! I think we all hit low points as bloggers but it’s importnat to remember we each have a unique perspective as your lovely quote points out!! And that’s what we should focus on. Thank you for sharing with #candidcuddles x

I have been feeling a lot like you describe above recently, and I really needed to read this post! I had a idea for my blog and when I had a quick google it’s already been done (unsurprisingly!) and It really put me into a negative spin. Ive decided to focus more on our passions and compare less! xx

Oh I hope this post has helped a bit! It’s so hard though isn’t it, at times it feels like everything you think of has already been done! But then you would put your own spin and voice to it, and make it your own! x

This is fab. Sometimes I can feel a little down and I always tell one has the same experiences as me and no one is me. I think comparison is hard not to do..but for me I always tell myself..not all bloggers are sick and unwell so I do good for that!
