We were looking through some old videos the other day.
And we found one in particular of Rhys, called ‘trying to say stuff’. As the title suggests, it’s Rhys trying his hardest to say stuff. He’s about 18 months old, and trying his best to say ‘Uncle Phil’.
And it’s just ridiculously cute.
Between attempts at those 2 words he babbles away. And this isn’t just general babbling, this is fluent gibberish.
Scribble my Mum calls it.
And it’s just amazing to listen to. You’d swear he was talking a foreign language. And the thing is, I’d sort of forgotten quite how much he used to jabber away.
It’s quite funny to look back and see it again.
He still does it now see. He talks and talks and talks. So it’s funny to look back and be reminded that that is just part of his nature. He is a little chatterbox.
It’s just that now he rambles on about Minecraft instead of who-knows-what!

I took this photo of him on a trip to Caswell at the weekend.
And while he looks so grown up to me, I can just about see that scribble-talking toddler still in there. And that makes me really happy.

I adore this photo, it’s such a lovely capture. Amazing how quickly you forget how they were – how lovely you have videos to look back on his babbles.

My kids are 13 and almost 11 and one of my favourite things is to look back at old videos of when they were small. Time seems to pick up speed when you have children.
Your photo of Rhys is lovely! It feels joyful and makes me smile. Thanks for sharing!
Time really does go so fast doesn’t it! And now I want to make sure I take more videos of my children at this age, so I’ll have plenty more to look back at when they’re older again. And thank you, lovely to hear Rhys’ smile made you smile! x
What a beautiful capture, I love it x #livingarrows
Awww simple beautiful X
He’s a gorgeous little boy, and looks like he’s got a right spark to him. N was a jabberer as well, and he’s much the same now. #livingarrows
He really does look grown up and I love ‘scribble’ for that babble. I know exactly what you mean x
Such a cute photo. My son has only just started talking a little bit and we have had that babble for a good few years. I’m sure he was from Russia. I really need to film my little lady talking ad I haven;t done anything like that #LivingArrows
They really do sound like they’re talking a foreign language don’t they, it’s brilliant! x
Aww what a gorgeous capture, I know what you mean about them growing too quickly, thankfully every now and again I see those moments of todderism and babyism for me to hold on to #livingarrows
