Me and Mine July 2021

Me and Mine – July 2021

I can’t quite believe that we’re already at the end of July.

I think because I was over a week late with June’s me and mine post it feels too soon to already be writing this month’s post.  But, here we are.

Our family photo for this month is a simple selfie, taken on a walk through Singleton park.

July was one of those funny months where it feels like not all that much happened, until you really think about it.

The children were still in school at the start of the month, and then we had the emotional few days at the end of term as they said goodbye to the teachers that they’ve really loved being with this year.

We also found out some more information about their teachers and classes for next year, which is a bit of a mixed bag.  Rhys is thrilled with the way things have worked out for him, because he’s back with a teacher he loves and his whole gang of friends who were split up into different classes this year.

Nerys on the other hand is a bit more uncertain as we don’t know her new teacher and she’s been moved into a different class from friends she’s got really close to this year.  I’m sure it’ll all work out fine though, and hopefully we’ll be able to see these friends outside of school hours more if covid restrictions stay the way they are.

July also saw me heading to Kent for a few days with my sister to surprise our dad for his birthday.

He had no idea we were going and it was just amazing to all be together after over 18 months of not seeing each other.  Now I just have to make a plan to get Steve and the children there too, it’s been so long since they last saw their grandparents.

The rest of the month was a mix of super hot days spent at home before heading to the beach for a swim in the late afternoon and walks in the local park, bumping into friends and just enjoying the slower pace of life that summer holidays tend to bring.

I’m hoping August brings with it more of the same!
