Living Arrows 2018 – 4/52

We had a bit of a washout of a weekend here in Swansea.

There was a bit of a break in the rain on Saturday afternoon, but we were all quite happy playing and working at home.  So after checking the forecast for Sunday and seeing more wet weather forecast, we decided we would wrap up and head out for a rainy walk in the park in the morning.

Which is exactly what we did.

We put Nerys in her rainsuit and the rest of us in coats and hats and off we went for a very soggy walk round Brynmill Park.

We were hoping to be able to feed the ducks in the park, but should have guessed really that the kiosk that sells the bird seed would be shut.

So we went to say hello to the ducks and the swans instead, then splashed through puddles the rest of the way round the park to the playground.

With everything being soaking wet Rhys was a bit limited on what he could do, but he impressed me and Steve (and himself) by braving the fireman’s pole by himself.  Nerys in her rainsuit was much more free to play on the slides and things, but was a bit wary after almost shooting off the end of one slide thanks to her slippery rainsuit!

We were all absolutely soaked, and pretty cold, by the time we got home but it was really nice to see the children not caring in the slightest about the rain.  Nerys in particular had a great time, she really loves sploshing in puddles!

It really is true though, isn’t it, that there’s no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.
