At the end of a long second week of school holidays (both kids were poorly and had no energy at all to go out and do anything) we were in need of something to do together that didn’t require leaving the house but that was a break from all the jigsaws and colouring we’d been doing.
Enter fairy cakes!
My two love helping to bake cakes.
They get really excited, taking it in turns to help measure out ingredients and tip them in the bowl.
They enjoy adding the chocolate chips as they’re allowed to sneak a few before they go in the mix.
And they really love licking the spoon while waiting for the cakes to cook!

What great pictures. Definitely showing a good portrait of childhood….although my son will not lick spoons or cake mix from the bowls. Means I have to instead. Shame!
Haha, that must be awful for you! My son has only just started wanting to do it, I think it’s because he didn’t want to miss out when he saw his little sister doing it! And thank you for your lovely comment! x
I hope you’re all feeling better now – we’ve all been ill and it’s been miserable! Baking is always the way forward though, I’m overdue another backing session with Toby actually. Yours both look like they’re really enjoying licking that spoon anyway! #LivingArrows
Haha, they both loved it! Hope you’re all feeling better now, these bugs are just miserable! x
