Living arrows – 10/52

Every night in our house we basically follow the same bedtime routine of bath, pjs on, stories on Mummy and Daddy’s bed and then little ones off to bed.

Sometimes Rhys will read his latest book from school, other nights they’ll have 3 stories read to them.

Sometimes they’ll get into Rhys’ bed together, sometimes Nerys will switch ends of her bed so she’s closer to him.

Sometimes they’ll go off to sleep quickly, other nights there’ll be shouts for drinks, and teddies and one-more-hug.

But the part of the evening that’s pretty consistent is the bath.

We’ve found that they seem to need that signal that it’s time to start preparing for bedtime.  And they’re both big fans of being in the water, so they play with their bath toys, pretend to swim, sing with Daddy and generally have a good time.

I love this photo of Nerys enjoying bathtime, partly because you can really see how her hair is finally starting to grow longer, with the lovely little curl around her ears.  It’s taken a long time to get to this point!

That is a gorgeous photo of her.
Bed time is great. At the time it always feels like a pain when I just want to sit down and relax, but really we love to chat at this time and it’s when I get the low down on N’s day.

I love it when Nerys lies in her bed and tells me about her day, I think that’ll be a lovely thing to carry on with both of them as they get older. x

Awww what a lovely photo, Boo loves getting her bedtime bath too – though she is a bit of a monster for splashing water everywhere and we all end up soaked!

We’ve had our fair share of soakings too but they seem to be out of that phase for now luckily! x

What a beautiful photo! I love the sound of your bedtime routine, it sounds so cosy and lovely 🙂

Thank you! Some nights it’s more loopy than calm and cosy, haha, but it is quite lovely! x

This is such a gorgeous, cheeky photo! I cannot wait for my little one’s hair to start growing a little longer. #livingarrows

It has really taken so long for Nerys’ hair to grow in, bless her! x

That is such a beautiful photo, I love her expression. It’s such a joy when children enjoy bathtime and one of our favourite parts of the day x

Ahh, thank you! Bathtime is a fun time isn’t it! x

Who doesn’t love bath time ? I’d live in my bath tub if I could

    • 03/04/2017 / 9:44 pm

You know, I can’t remember the last time I had a bath! I just know I’d get disturbed if I tried to have one so I stick to showers! x

This is such a lovely photo – our boys only have a bath twice a week, and the toddler won’t sit down but I’m hoping once the baby is big enough for them to bath together it will become a fun part of our bedtime routine together. #LivingArrows

Haha, oh we do still have nights where they both refuse to sit down! But even if they’re only in there for 2 minutes, it still feels like an important part of our routine! x
