Glorious Gower

We got lucky last week, and had some glorious sunshine on one of Steve’s days off from work.  So we packed up a quick picnic and headed out for a little trip to the Gower.

Now, I love Swansea bay, I really do.  The beach is fab for the children to run around on, and I love the view out towards Mumbles.

But there is something extra special about the beaches on Gower.  I’m always filled with a child-like sense of excitement when we drive out and suddenly get that first glimpse of the sea.

For our first trip of the year, we went to Horton, which Steve’s got a real soft spot for.  It tends to be quieter than some of the other beaches, and it is so, so pretty.  And Rhys had an absolute blast exploring the rock pools, and playing pirates.

With the sun shining, you can almost believe that Spring is actually on its way!

Oh, and now I feel really awful for ever taking any of this for granted!
