#ShowYouWereThere round up

‘Show you were there’ round up

Time for another round up from my lovely little Instagram community #ShowYouWereThere.

In case you’ve not heard about it before, #ShowYouWereThere is all about getting more parents in more photos.  So any photos that feature you, or your partner, in some way, shape or form then just tag them with #ShowYouWereThere when you share them on Instagram to join in, and potentially be featured in one of these little round ups!

Now, on to my four favourite photos that were shared in the last week.

First up is this incredibly sweet photo from Katy at Hot Pink Wellingtons.

I’ve mentioned before that I’m a bit of a sucker for baby-wearing photos and I just couldn’t not include this one in this week’s round up!  How great does Katy look, and how pretty is that ring sling?!

Next up is this beautifully autumnal photo from Kerry at Kerry Louse Norris.

It’s such a sweet photo, made even sweeter by the fact that her daughter took it.  She really is a little photographer in the making!

My third pick for this week is from Donna at What The Redhead Said.

Doesn’t this photo just make you smile along with them, they all look so happy!  Such a gorgeous capture by Colette of We’re Going On An Adventure.

My last pick for this week is this lovely photo from Laura at Life With Baby Kicks.

Well done to Laura’s husband for pushing through and completing the marathon, and more importantly well done to her son for doing such wonderful writing on the signs!

Thank you so much to everyone who is using #ShowYouWereThere, I love seeing your photos popping up over on instagram, they always bring a huge smile to my face!

Now, my turn.

Last week in my round up I admitted that I hadn’t been getting in front of the camera that much, and I pledged to make a point of doing it at least once a week from now on.  Well I’m off to a good start, with this windswept photo taken at Swansea bay with the wild winds of storm Brian whistling past me!

show you were there my turn

Did anyone else venture out in the stormy weather, or did you choose the more sensible option and stay inside?!

If you’d like to join in with my little community and possibly be featured in my next round up (with a nice link back to your blog!) then just share a photo of yourself over on instagram using #ShowYouWereThere.  It’s all about getting more parents in more photos.  And if you’d like to take part in my guest post series ‘The photo I’m thankful for‘ then take a look at this post or email me at thisgloriouslife@gmail.com for more information.

‘Show you were there’ round up

Another Sunday, another round up from my lovely little community #ShowYouWereThere.

My first pick for this week is this lovely family selfie from Sue at Life Starts After Coffee.  In the caption Sue said that she had an abscess when the photo was taken, but honestly I would never have known, she looks fab!  Hope it’s all sorted for you now though Sue!

Next up in this gorgeous baby-wearing photo from Nicola at Mummy to Dex.  I’m such a sucker for a baby-wearing photo, and this one just really makes me smile, it’s such a happy photo.

My third choice for this week is from Amy at The Smallest of Things.  Not only is this a lovely photo, but the caption that Amy wrote for it has really stuck with me this week.  Her attitude and determination to fight her anxiety is just really inspiring.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BaBY69PBTLs/?tagged=showyouwerethere

Finally, I’ve chosen this lovely mother/daughter photo from Ruth at Mummy and the Mexicans.

On chilly, soggy autumn days it’s really nice to see a little summer flashback like this pop up in my feed!

Thank you so much to everyone who is using #ShowYouWereThere, I love seeing your photos popping up over on instagram, they always bring a huge smile to my face!

Now, my turn.

I’m really ashamed to admit that I’ve not posted a photo of myself in my round ups for a few weeks.  Because I’ve not been in front of the camera.  Which is just awful considering what this whole community is about.

So I’ve made a commitment to myself, that one way or another I WILL get in at least one photo every week.

And I’m off to a good start, with this little beach selfie that Steve and I took yesterday.

Show you were there round up

I just love how this photo seems to really emphasise the height difference between us!  I so often forget that he’s a foot taller than me, because I’m so used to it.  Then I see photos like this and they really make me smile because I just seem to short next to him.

I took a little break from my regular round ups last week, as I was away for the weekend for BML17.  So this week I’ve picked out five photos that I really loved from my little #ShowYouWereThere community, instead of my usual four.

And without further ado, here they are!

First up is this smiley photo from Hannah over at HannahTasker.com.

I love her daughter’s expression in this photo, it’s just so cheeky!  If anyone has any advice or reassuring words for Hannah though, to ease her worries about her daughter’s eating, then please do pop over to instagram and leave her a comment, I’m sure it would be appreciated!

My second choice for this week is from Katy at Hot Pink Wellingtons.  In the caption Katy said that she almost didn’t post the photo, but I’m so happy that she did because it’s gorgeous, such a joyful moment captured.

My next pick is from Esther at Inside Out and About.  I just love all the happy faces in this photo, and that unbelievably cute hat!

https://www.instagram.com/p/BZnZ764B824/?tagged=showyouwerethere

The fourth photo I’ve chosen for this week is from Wendy at Naptime Natter.  I’m really with Wendy on the beach being my happy place, there’s something wonderful about sea air that just soothes me.

My bonus photo for this week’s round up is from Lucy at Mrs H’s Favourite Things.

I just think this is a beautiful photo of Lucy, her new cut and colour really suits her don’t you think!  I’m also more than a little bit jealous of her teeny number of grey hairs, as I’ve been dealing with mine since I was 18!

Thank you so much to everyone who is using #ShowYouWereThere, I love seeing your photos popping up over on instagram, they always bring a huge smile to my face!

Now, on to my four favourite photos that were shared in the last week.

First up is this sweet photo from Amy over at The Smallest of Things.

It is funny isn’t it, how we sometimes feel like these huge milestones like a first birthday should mean everything changes, but really, our babies are still the same, they still need us just the same!

https://www.instagram.com/p/BZPAA9pBT3v/?tagged=showyouwerethere

My second pick for this week is this brilliantly happy shot from Emma at Emmaology.

Don’t those happy faces just make you want to smile right back at them!

My next choice is from Jo at Pickle and Poppet.  I just really love the moment that’s been captured in this photo; cooking together is such a lovely activity for parents and children!

https://www.instagram.com/p/BZLKiRnhFKE/?tagged=showyouwerethere

My fourth and final pick for this week is from Sian at Hue Me Happy.  I just love the cheeky look on her daughter’s face in this photo!

#ShowYouWereThere round up

‘Show you were there’ round up (week twenty nine)

Here we are again!  Another Sunday and another round up of my little Instagram community #ShowYouWereThere.

Every week I go through all the wonderful photos that have been shared over on Instagram and choose my four favourites to feature here on the blog.

Most of the time I pick the photos that jump out or speak to me the most, with no real theme or anything behind my choices.  This week though, I seem to have managed to chose photos that do sort of fit a theme.

This week’s picks all seem to celebrate different elements of being a parent, photos that are a bit different from my usual picks but that are wonderful all the same because they show something of who the people behind them are.

So here they are!

First up is this brilliantly fun photo from Jax at Jax and Joseph.  People often say that one of the great things about being a parent is getting to see the world through a child’s eyes again, and surely that then extends to being able to play around like a child again too!

https://www.instagram.com/p/BY_XeH7AoU_/?tagged=showyouwerethere

My next pick is this lovely photo of Louise from Mummy Miller.  Not only is it a fab photo of Louise (anyone else in love with her pinafore dress?!) but I love that it was taken to celebrate a child-free day out with her mum.

As much as we all adore our children, we all need some time to just be with other grown-ups sometimes, don’t we!

My third choice this week is this photo from Louise at Fizzy Peaches.  I love how this photo really shows a lot about what is going on in Louise’s world right now, without actually showing her at all.

Last but not least this week is this exciting photo from Jaymee at The Mum Diaries.  I can only imagine how amazing it must feel to pick up a magazine and see your words in print, well done Jaymee!

Thank you so much to everyone who is using #ShowYouWereThere, I love seeing your photos popping up over on instagram, they always bring a huge smile to my face!

#ShowYouWereThere round up

‘Show you were there’ round up (week twenty eight)

It’s Sunday, which means it’s time for another round up from my little Instagram community #ShowYouWereThere.

In case you don’t know, the community is all about us parents getting in more photos both with and for our children.  Any photos that feature you, or your partner, in any way please do share them and tag them with #ShowYouWereThere over on Instagram.

Every week I pick my four favourites to feature in my round up, and here are my picks for this week.

First up is this lovely photo of Louise from Mummy Miller.

It’s such a feel-good photo, especially with the caption that goes with it about how much Louise has done in the last five years!

My second pick is this sweet family photo from Sabrina at The Mummy Stylist.

I think we all have family pictures like this don’t we, when we’re the only ones actually looking at the camera and smiling!

My next choice is from Donna at What the Redhead Said and is such a lovely family photo (taken by The Littlest Darlings).

I also now really want some dungarees again after seeing Donna in hers!

My fourth and final pick for this week is another whole family photo, this time from Susie at This is Me Now.

This photo is just such a sunny, happy one to finish this round up with!

Thank you so much to everyone who is using #ShowYouWereThere, I love seeing your photos popping up over on instagram, they always bring a huge smile to my face!

Now my turn.

I’m sharing this photo from a trip to the beach last weekend, where Nerys was trying out some yoga poses for me for my review of the book ‘Kids Yoga’.  She was trying to do tree pose, and had a bit of trouble balancing to start with so Steve was helping to keep her steady.

I just love the way she’s looking at him in this photo!

#ShowYouWereThere round up

‘Show you were there’ round up (week twenty seven)

Well here we are, the end of another week and the end of the school summer holidays.  I hope everyone has had a great summer, and has jumped in lots of photos with their families!  Thank you so much to everyone who has been sharing their photos with #ShowYouWereThere over on Instagram.

Here are my four favourites from the last week.

First up is this lovely photo from Jax at Jax and Joseph.

It’s really made me feel nostalgic for that baby bubble that you exist in when you have a newborn around.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BYasIufldu6/?tagged=showyouwerethere

My second pick is from Kayleigh at Little B and Me.  This photo just makes me smile, mainly because of the contrast between how beautifully put together Kayleigh looks, and the face that Bryson is pulling.  That, and the lovely comment from Kayleigh about how she feels about him, you can’t beat a mother’s love can you.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BYWTUF6Fg52/?tagged=showyouwerethere

Next up is this gorgeously sunny photo from Katy at Hot Pink Wellingtons.  Katy’s photos are always really lovely, and this one is no exception, the expression on Max’s face is just perfect!

My final pick for this week is from Charlotte at Mummy Fever.   Another one that just really made me smile thanks to her son’s classic reaction to being told to ‘say cheese’ for a photo!

Thank you so much to everyone who is using #ShowYouWereThere, I love seeing your photos popping up over on instagram, they always bring a huge smile to my face!

Now my turn.

Well, Steve’s turn again this week.  We’ve spent a fair bit of time at the beach at Swansea bay recently, and Nerys has been getting bolder about splashing about in the sea.

She absolutely loves jumping over/in the waves when they come in, and she loves it even more when Steve’s there to give her a helping hand to jump extra high!

show you were there round up

These are the moments for me that I’m so happy I have photos of.  The posed photos are lovely, don’t get me wrong, I do like a good picture of us all saying cheese and looking at the camera.  But more and more I’m loving these photos of real moments.

These are the things I hope my children remember fondly when they look back at their childhood.
