I read a post last week over on wee ditty, titled ‘Desire and urgency and the blogging game‘.
It was an interesting post about wanting things, and wanting to want things. And then finding an urgency to go out and get these things. And how this relates to games we play, and blogging as a kind of game itself.
At the end of the post Eugene asked the question, are you the type of person who constantly desires things, or are you content with what you have?
And it prompted me to write a comment about how I’m generally content, but I do have my ambitions and desires.
Which led to a short conversation about ambition and how it forces us out of our comfort zone.
This is something I’ve written about before.
How I do feel like I’ve taken steps out my comfort zone over the last few years.
Some steps have been tiny. But others have felt like giant leaps into the unknown.
What I do know though, is that those steps and leaps are always worth it.
It may be terrifying but you have to be bold and just go for it.
So for anyone with a dream, or desire, or ambition, who’s feeling a bit scared to move towards it – be bold.

“Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius and power and magic in it”
Sometimes you just need to take a deep breath, be bold and go for it.
That really is when the magic so often starts to happen.
