Little things I love about autumn

I’ve said it before and I’ve not doubt I’ll say it again, but I do love autumn.

And I know I’m not the only one, because my social media feeds lately have been full of people celebrating the arrival of the new season.

There are so many different reasons to love it, but here are a few of the little things I love about autumn.

Little things I love about Autumn

Getting cosy

The evenings are already getting darker and I am really not complaining about it.

I love cwtching up at home, with a hot drink and a cosy blanket, especially when it’s dark and rainy outside.  My friend knitted me an amazing blanket for my birthday and I’m so pleased that it’s starting to get a bit chilly so I can cwtch up on the sofa with it.

Cheap family fun

The summer holidays can be so expensive when you have children to entertain and keep busy.  What I love about autumn is that there are so many opportunities to have fun as a family that doesn’t cost much at all.

Autumn is the perfect season for heading out a walk as a family.  Bright, crisp days were made for stomping through the woods and collecting colourful leaves and spiky conkers.  And rainy days are just perfect for a day spent at home watching old family favourites on dvd.  We’ve been watching ‘Robin Hood‘ and ‘The land before time’ recently and I love that my children enjoy them as much as I did when I was younger.

There are all sorts of things on offer for your family at Latest Deals, so no matter what you want to do this autumn you can save some money.

The excitement

I know some people feel a bit disappointed when summer comes to an end, but I love the fresh-start-new-year feeling that I get when autumn rolls around.

And there’s so much to look forward to and feel excited for this season.  On a personal note we have several family birthdays this time of year, along with my wedding anniversary.  And then we also have bonfire night, Halloween, and Christmas to look forward to.

I’ve always loved this time of year, but it feels even more special now I have the children.  We were told the dates for their Christmas concerts the other day and I’m already so excited to go along and see them both sing their hearts out again.

I think above all I like the feeling of change in the air that comes with autumn.  The shift in the weather, the chill in the air, it’s refreshing after the heat of the summer.

What little things do you like best about this time of year?
