As a parent, it’s vitally important to connect with your children and bond with them as much as possible. It enables kids to grow up feeling loved and protected, it teaches them what good relationships are like, and even helps them achieve better marks in school. Yet it might be hard to fully connect, even when you badly want to.
There is so much we need to get done (or think we have to get done) in our busy lives that we might discover we are all doing different things and that bonding never truly takes place.
Or it could be simple while the children are tiny but gets more challenging as they grow up.
If that sounds like your life, here are some wonderful methods to bond more with your children.

Take a holiday together
Taking a family trip is a wonderful way to strengthen your relationship with your children. During the holiday, no one will be sidetracked by work or school, and you will all be able to fully focus on what is going on right now, in front of you.
While on holiday, you have the opportunity to explore new activities, eat at different restaurants, and spend quality time together. To learn more about your children, ask them questions about their recent school trips to Paris, their hobbies, or what they watched on TV. Even if you believe you know them well, there are always new parts of their personalities or their aspirations for the future that you may not have previously considered.
To take a holiday, you don’t have to shell out a lot of money. In addition to using internet discounts to save money, you might just go on a nearby camping holiday or go for only one week instead of two. You might also be able to enjoy a ‘staycation’ at home without having to worry about work or school.
Read together
With screens becoming more and more commonplace, parents have difficulty establishing a close relationship with their kids because of the constant presence of screens in their lives. Children need a break from screens. Although they can be both entertaining and educational, they are also a distraction from family life and reading aloud as a family is a wonderful way to provide that break.
You and your child could read together every day, perhaps after lunch or at bedtime, like a traditional goodnight story. Depending on your child’s age, this might be you reading to them or spending quiet time with them reading your own books (or the same book which you can then discuss between you the next day, offering more opportunities for bonding). For many people, this time is their favourite part of the day, and they look forward to it very much.
Have a date day or night
When all a youngster truly wants is some quality time with their parents, it’s okay to give it to them. In fact, it’s the best thing you can do. Even while this might be difficult when there are other siblings or a lot of work to be done, it can significantly strengthen your relationship. If you have more than one child, make sure you focus on one at a time for some real bonding.
Once a month, plan a ‘date day’ or ‘date night.’ You can arrange the date ahead of time to ensure that you have the tickets, food, or time you need to make it a success. Then make the most of your time with your kid and enjoy it to the fullest.
