There have been years in the past when Autumn has snuck up on me. I’ve been too busy, rushing around, head down, to notice the glorious transformations going on around me.
Not this year though. This year I’ve been waiting, watching. Determined to savour the beautiful colours and the change in the air.
So I was really pleased to get out for 2 walks this weekend. One along the front in Swansea bay, which was just lovely, the path lined with trees that were gently dropping their leaves. And the second through Singleton Park, with a wonderful family for a portrait photography session.
Both times I made a conscious effort to take in my surroundings, enjoying the changes that were going on around me. Saying a quiet goodbye to summer and a big hello to Autumn and all it’s beauty.
I do love this time of year. The crisp air, the changing colours, the chance to dig out my favourite scarves and gloves! What about you? Are you sad to see Summer go, or quite happy about the arrival of Autumn?!

This is great – I feel exactly the same – I am completely embracing Autumn this year – I want the warm gone now so I can put the fire on, drink hot chocolate and wear big jumpers! And the colours of Autumn are the most beautiful of all the seasons in my opinion #candidcuddles
Yes! Hot chocolate and big jumpers all the way! x
This is so beautiful & such a lovely way to think of the Autumn. I have had years when all of a sudden the leaves are on the ground & I missed the whole thing. It’s important to look around & enjoy! I was so sad to see the summer end but now I’m in the Christmas mood lol Thanks so much for linking up with #candidcuddles every week, I always look forward to your quote! x
It happens so quickly some years doesn’t it! x
