As soon as I walk through my front door I’m greeted by 2 little signs. One reads ‘home sweet home’ and the other ‘there’s no place like home’.
They both just absolutely sum up how I feel about coming home.
There are quite a few other quotes that I really love about home and how it makes us feel, and here are 5 of my favourites:

“A home without books is a body without soul.” – Cicero

“Home is the nicest word there is” – Laura Ingalls Wilder
Is there a nicer, more comforting word than ‘home’? I’m not sure if there is.The thing I love most about the word is that it doesn’t just have to refer to our houses. For me it is more than that. It’s a feeling too. My husband is home to me, just as much as our house is.
“There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort” – Jane Austen
I think we all have our little spots in our homes that we like to retreat to don’t we. It might be a cosy armchair next to the fireplace or a sofa in your upvc conservatory looking out into your garden.
These little havens are the ultimate in comfort, and make staying home the perfect way to retreat from the world and be completely ourselves.

I just absolutely love all of these quotes, that all sort of build on the classic idea that home is where the heart is.
I’ve felt a bit torn over the years between my home here in Swansea and my parents’ house in Kent that I still refer to as home when I talk about visiting them. But I’ve realised that I’m actually just incredibly lucky to have different places to call home. To have more than one safe haven that I can go to for absolute comfort and reassurance and safety.
