It’s Sunday, which means it’s time for another round up from my little Instagram community #ShowYouWereThere.
In case you don’t know, the community is all about us parents getting in more photos both with and for our children. Any photos that feature you, or your partner, in any way please do share them and tag them with #ShowYouWereThere over on Instagram.
Every week I pick my four favourites to feature in my round up, and here are my picks for this week.
First up is this lovely photo of Louise from Mummy Miller.
It’s such a feel-good photo, especially with the caption that goes with it about how much Louise has done in the last five years!
I've just been informed by Facebook that I qualified as a nurse 5 years ago today! Those 5 years have flown by and my life has changed so much since then. I've got engaged, married, had 2 promotions, had a baby and bought my first home in just those few years. I'm still in the same job as I was when I qualified, which is mad considering I never intended on staying in the there for any longer than a year 🙈, but it works for us for the moment. I'm so pleased that I had the guts to start my blog and I'm slowly but surely starting to supplement my income with a little extra from it as well which is amazing. I wonder what the next 5 years will bring?!
My second pick is this sweet family photo from Sabrina at The Mummy Stylist.
I think we all have family pictures like this don’t we, when we’re the only ones actually looking at the camera and smiling!
I know this picture ain't perfect, but I'm taking it. We had one last day of fun at Legoland (I say fun, but I am EXHAUSTED!!) Now there is just tomorrow to chill out before school starts, and then that's it, the summer holidays is over. I am sad it has gone so quickly, it has been the most amazing 6 weeks, we've squeezed in so much from wedding fever in Edinburgh, to many many train adventures to a life changing seaside holiday in Kent (I'll talk more about that another time) And I managed to video all our days out so we can relive them 🙂 What did you like most about your summer holidays?
I also now really want some dungarees again after seeing Donna in hers!
My fourth and final pick for this week is another whole family photo, this time from Susie at This is Me Now.
This photo is just such a sunny, happy one to finish this round up with!
Our family! A rare one of all 3 of us (and bump hiding at the bottom there) for #mymindfulseptember. This was last bank holiday weekend at the Alysham Show. This weekend has been far less exciting, washing, cleaning, sorting out the house. But in those moments I've stood still and watched Matt be the best Daddy ever. And Miss Belle, when she's not been telling me to go away, is pretty damn awesome. And so my mindful moment is to be thankful for what we have today. And now excuse me whilst I go get her from her cot – can't take the nap refusal screams anymore! #keepingitreal
Thank you so much to everyone who is using #ShowYouWereThere, I love seeing your photos popping up over on instagram, they always bring a huge smile to my face!
Now my turn.
I’m sharing this photo from a trip to the beach last weekend, where Nerys was trying out some yoga poses for me for my review of the book ‘Kids Yoga’. She was trying to do tree pose, and had a bit of trouble balancing to start with so Steve was helping to keep her steady.
I just love the way she’s looking at him in this photo!
If you’d like to join in with my little community and possibly be featured in my next round up (with a nice link back to your blog!) then just share a photo of yourself over on instagram using #ShowYouWereThere. It’s all about getting more parents in more photos. And if you’d like to take part in my guest post series ‘The photo I’m thankful for‘ then take a look at this post or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
